Automotive example: Measuring a Hall effect ABS sensor

February 25, 2016

A new lab scope measurement example about measuring on a Hall effect ABS sensor is available. This measurement is performed using an automotive oscilloscope, measure leads and back probes.

ABS systems are getting more common on vehicles and this partly electric system has ABS sensors to measure the wheel speed. ABS sensors can be separated into two groups, inductive ABS sensors and Hall effect ABS sensors. The article explains how the Hall effect ABS sensor works and shows the results of voltage measurements performed on the Hall effect ABS sensor with a lab scope. A settings file with the measured data can be downloaded.
